What a great week we had! We had tons of fun learning different things about the largest habitat on Earth.... the ocean! Please ask your child to sing our ocean song! They were getting pretty good at it by the end of the week!
A few things of importance:
1. Valentine's Day is coming next week! <3 Please have your child's Valentine's here by Feb. 14th.
2. THANK YOU for your support with the guided reading "Book Baggies!" I really, really, really appreciate it!! I will not send them home on Fridays. The more we can get these kids reading the better off they are going to be. All of you parents ROCK!!!!
3. Parent teacher conferences are coming up at the end of next week. I am looking forward to seeing you and discussing your child's progress in Kindergarten. Valentine's Day is not the most opportune time to have these scheduled, so thanks goes out to those that signed up despite it. If you did not sign up for a conference please know that I would love to talk to you anytime about your child's progress! :)
Here is a tiny snippet of things we did this week! Enjoy!!

Birthday boy! |
Finding, reading, and writing "Itty Bitty Words" |
We did a few centers that were awesome! We flipped flopped for rhymes, wrote sneaky "e" starfish words, and counted how many dots were on jellyfish!
We listened to a few awesome books about the ocean and ocean animals.
We learned all about starfish! This little guy brought in his own two starfish from home. SO sweet!!!
We Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister and then made him! :) It is a lovely story about the joy that comes from sharing.
We "buttered" up an ocean book by highlighting all of the sight words and chunks we knew. |
The following pictures have no academic merit that are visible. We had indoor recess on the rainy day this week and the kids were so cute playing I just had to snap some pictures. Playing is an important part of kindergarten too! :)
Until next time!
